How We’re Empowering Future Tech Talent

At Toga Networks, we dedicate considerable time and resources to support international and local mathematics and computer science competitions.  The purpose of this is to foster and nurture the next generation of talent. Additionally, we are pleased to provide mentorship programs for students in collaboration with “Moshal Program” that supports students from underprivileged backgrounds who are pursuing scientific degrees. In this article, we will discuss  some of the student engagement activities that we are so very honoured to support.

SWERC ICPC Competition: SWERC ICPC is a challenging 5-hour programming contest, where teams of three students demonstrate their problem-solving and coding skills. Teams from universities around Europe, including Israel, participated in this regional selection phase for the prestigious ICPC World Finals. Israeli teams from universities like Tel Aviv University and Technion made their mark, securing gold and silver medals. With Huawei as the main sponsor, Toga Networks representatives escort and support the Israeli teams, witnessing their brilliant minds tackling next-level technologies. Additionally, we were proud to have Shahar Belkar, a leading CTO from the company, carry out a lecture in the opening ceremony.  It’s a tradition we are excited to continue for years to come.

IMC Student Challenge: Sponsored by Huawei, the International Math Competition is a prestigious week-long mathematics competition that brings together the brightest maths students from around the world at The American University in Bulgaria. This year, the event saw participation from Israeli students from The Technion, Weizmann Institute, Tel Aviv University, and Bar Ilan University.  For the second consecutive year, Toga was delighted to send a delegation to support the contestants. The Israeli teams performed exceptionally well, especially Tel Aviv University, which achieved 1st place in the team rankings, while individual contestants from both Tel Aviv and Weizmann Institute excelled. It was a privilege to have Dr. Assaf Natanzon, a CTO from our company, present the opening keynote! IMC stands as a great example of how we’re empowering Israeli students to display their talents on a global stage.

Seeds for the Future: Seeds for the Future, Huawei’s visionary program, unites bright young minds from top universities worldwide, with a focus on bridging the technology expertise gap. The immersive program offers students a unique chance to explore the world of telecommunication technology, gain industry insights, and take charge of their professional development. Recently, 40 individuals, including an exceptional student from Toga Networks, gathered in Barcelona for an enriching six-day experience, which included a visit to the Mobile World Congress (MWC2023). Seeds for the Future is doing what its name implies: giving a new generation the tools they’ll need to transform their visions into solutions that make an impact.

Moshal Program: In collaboration with Moshal Program – an Israeli social organization – we’ve had the honor of initiating and tailoring a one-on-one mentorship scheme, alongside hosting career-focused lectures. At our recent “Spotlight Meeting,” industry leaders imparted crucial knowledge on vital labor laws and the art of self-branding, giving students essential tools to thrive in their chosen fields. The culmination of our mentorship program was marked by a celebratory event, recognizing the accomplishments of both students and mentors. Witnessing the profound impact this experience had on everyone involved was genuinely inspirational.

A Brighter Future Ahead

As part of the company’s agenda, we’re honored to support and nurture tomorrow’s tech luminaries by providing them with the platform and support they need to excel. Investing in young minds is a smart choice that will benefit us all the future.
